These elections are your opportunity to push for real change
In very tough times, the British people have shown remarkable decency and strength: working hard, raising families and playing by the rules. But they are finding it harder and harder to make ends meet.
Now more than ever, people deserve a fair deal.
But this Conservative Government is letting people down badly and taking them for granted.
Soaring energy bills, food prices and housing costs are overwhelming millions of families and pensioners. They need a Government with a plan to tackle this cost-of-living crisis, but instead the Conservatives have made it so much worse with all their chaos.
They crashed our economy and added hundreds of pounds to people’s monthly mortgage payments. They have added to the pain with unfair tax rises and deep cuts to crucial public services, just to pay for the damage they themselves caused.
The Conservatives have let the NHS crisis spiral out of control, failing to deliver the new hospitals they promised and making people wait hours for an ambulance or months for urgent cancer treatment.
They are allowing water companies to pump filthy sewage straight into our rivers, damaging our precious local environment. And they have broken their promise on policing, leaving too many communities plagued by burglaries and anti-social behaviour and letting far too many criminals get away with it.
All that must change.
That’s why more and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats. They know we work hard for our communities, we hear your concerns, and we never take you for granted.
It’s why so many people supported us in true-blue Buckinghamshire, North Shropshire and Devon. They told us they had voted Conservative all their lives, but never again. And it’s why we gained more seats than any other party at last year’s local elections, winning seats from both Labour and the Conservatives.
